Greetings all, We invite you to come out to support us in San Francisco yet again, as we bring international guest teacher MAIMOUNA of Mali, West Africa via Paris, France to kick-off the regular Tuesday night Congolese Dance class at Dance Mission. See details below. What a dynamic duo Cady & Maimouna were together... an explosive combination of traditional and popular movement set to Soukous sounds and culminating with the fiery rhythms of the Ngoma ... The ingredients were all there but this stew would not have been as tasty without all those who came out to support this special workshop... With origins in the Republic of Congo, Guinea and the Ivory Coast, Cady developed her captivating and fiery style under the tutelage of Malonga Casquelourd and her mother Regine Ndounda. Maimouna is dancer and choreographer based in Paris, France who specializes in the popular dance styles of Africa and the Carribbean.
